Oracle Completes Sun Merger

Filed under: Private Equity Software giant Oracle ( ORCL ) finally completed its $7.4 billion acquisition of Sun Microsystems on January 26, for $9.50 per share in cash and debt deal, setting up an opportunity for the company to dominate its competition in the database software and enterprise computing systems markets. Sun has been delisted from the Nasdaq and all Sun stock holders were to have cash payouts mailed to them within a week.

Bears Brace for a Pullback from MGM Mirage

Filed under: Options , Technical Analysis Last Friday, MGM Mirage ( MGM ) was heavily targeted by put players, with bearishly oriented option volume rising to more than twice the usual level. About 30,000 puts crossed the tape during the course of the session, compared to MGM’s typical put volume of just 13,000 contracts. The International Securities Exchange (ISE) reports that traders on Friday bought to open 5,064 puts on MGM, compared to just 1,009 calls.

could the fact that orange are now selling tg01 at a huge loss,(i was told by an orange employee that orange paid over £300 each for tg01’s) be useful in our cases for orange to cancel our contracts ?. this must be a record in uk for premier grade handset to be punted out as payg fodder. it could be argued as admission of phone being usless and was therefore unfit for purpose in the first place.
