Mega outbursts of irrational media coverage
Same American establishment that has protected Anderson has been pillorying Tony Hayward, BP’s chief executive, following BP’s oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico. The tirade has been led by President Barack Obama, who has been behaving like a spoiled child for the past 50 or so days, casting around for someone to blame when it is his own officials who are primarily at fault. In Delhi, politicians and media have been in a frenzy over the Bhopal gas leak following a court judgement last Monday that eight Indian former Union Carbide executives should serve two-year prison sentences and be fined about $2,000 (subject to appeals that could take years). Broadband Wireless Auctions Close – Brings Mukesh Ambani Into Telecom Business
India finally closed the long and exciting Broadband Wireless Auction on Friday. After 16 days and 117 rounds of auction in which 11 companies fought tooth and nail for a share of the ‘most happening ‘ spectrum, the Government has accrued Rs 38,543 crore from selling three slots of airwaves. The total revenue from the 3G auction and the BWA amounts to a whooping Rs 1.06 lakh crore.

here ’s a recent (well, nearly a month old) article by Sanjeev Sanyal arguing for better integration of universities with urban communities in India. Sanyal’s argument is that walling off the campus (as the IITs and IIMs do) causes them to have no impact on their surroundings: to benefit the city, the university system must be integrated into it.

Nokia loses grip to slip its revenue while Huawei gets winning ground
Nokia has faced the last beat in its revenue figures for the fiscal of 2009-10 by accruing 15% fall to Rs14,100 crore against Rs16567 crore in the previous year. The reasons cited for this debacle are price reduction and stiff competition from inferior companies
