Gizmodo has shared this Google Nexus One phone screenshot confirming 2 important facts: Google is setting pricing on their HTC built new Nexus One Android smartphone at $529.99 unlocked and at $179.99 if you go with a 2-year contract, and commit to $80 a month T-Mobile contract. And the second fact is that Google will sell it by themselves. Looks like finally iPhone will have some serious competition

Electronista: Evidence of 8GB iPhone 3GS

A German shopper bought a refurbished 8GB iPhone 3G yesterday, but found something strange; a label on the back pointing to an “iPhone 3GS v2.2, 8GB.” The model (A1241) and part number (MB490DN/A) point to the older model, but “iPhone 3GS” appeared on the packaging which implied that its mention wasn’t a mistake. This incident was reported by Electronista last evening. And here is the picture posted by that German shopper.

O2 Apologise for Network Failure

Seemingly a victim of the success of their star device, O2 have recently admitted that the explosion in popularity of the iPhone has had a detrimental effect on the data performance of their network. The major problems for O2 appear to have been around the London area, with some customers unable to make or receive calls as the network buckles under the pressure. O2 claim that they are pumping millions of pounds into improving the network capacity in effected areas, with up to 200 additional base stations being installed in the London area

Operators To Fork Out 3G License Fees Before Spectrum Allocation: DoT

Nokia Most Preferred Mobile Phone Brand Among University Students

According to report at Financial Times , Mobile Youth Consultancy conducted a survey among 1,000 university students in UK during November and found out that Nokia was the most preferred mobile phone brand, followed by Sony Ericsson and  BlackBerry. The results of the survey conducted by Mobile Youth Consultancy are as follows: 1) Nokia : The most preferred brand with 30% share.
