Vodafone Goes Eco-friendly: Launches Solar Powered Phone
In keeping with the latest vogue of mobile phone Companies going ecofriendly, Vodafone announced the launch of its first solar powered handset in India. The device, known as VF 247 was launched on Tuesday at the Vodafone store in Fort, Mumbai.

Vodafone Disinterested in Minority Stakes – To Sell Stake In Bharti
The world’s largest telecom group in terms of revenue, Vodafone Group Plc. , is all set to sell its smaller stakes all around the world, and in the process will sell its indirect minority equity stake of 4.39% in Bharti Airtel.

Confirmed: iPhone 4Coming to India in September/October
AirTel will be launching the iPhone 4 in India officially in the month of September/October 2010. The phone, which is the 4th generation iPhone was launched by Apple this June and was one of the most anticipated gadgets of 2010 or should I saw now it has become most controversial due to the reception issues of the iPhone OS 4.0.

What I liked in Nokia N900/Maemo
It’s been more than a week since I started using Nokia N900 smart phone. At the same time an android phone visited me (Samsung Galaxy S) which failed to impress! I continued using N900 & handed that device over to Santosh to write a guest review on Tech Bangalore. Since it’s too late to write a detailed review of N900, I’m just pointing out what all features I liked on this phone

Facebook working on an ‘Answers’ portal?
Today I found a link on Facebook inviting users to apply for beta testing program of their new product, which looks like below: Wondering what Facebook is upto I clicked on that link & apparently it looks like Facebook is working on a ‘Answers’ portal similar to Yahoo Answers. To get the beta tester access to this application, Facebook requires user to pick three questions & write answers for them. This is clearly about Questions & Answers, let’s see whether Facebook can really stand against well established competitor like Yahoo! Answers

Broadband Wireless Auctions Close – Brings Mukesh Ambani Into Telecom Business
India finally closed the long and exciting Broadband Wireless Auction on Friday. After 16 days and 117 rounds of auction in which 11 companies fought tooth and nail for a share of the ‘most happening ‘ spectrum, the Government has accrued Rs 38,543 crore from selling three slots of airwaves. The total revenue from the 3G auction and the BWA amounts to a whooping Rs 1.06 lakh crore.
