Nokia To Focus on High-End Smart Phones and Mobile Computers
With Nokia facing competition from Apple and Research in Motion in the higher end segment, the Finnish giant has officially said that it will soon be launching new breed of smart phones, that will help them close the gap with it competitors. Don’t worry, Nokia is still the world leading mobile phone player but in the high-end smart phone segment its is facing stiff competition from the iPhone and the Blackberries. Nokia has always been good with cracking the lower spectrum of the mobile phone market but now they want to capture the share of wallet of high-end smart phone users.

Samsung Announce 3D Phone
Samsung Announce First Device with 3D Capable Display Unfortunately for those of us based within the European market, this device is currently only available in Korea. Whilst we wouldn’t ordinarily focus on such devices, the Samsung W960 AMOLED 3D is the first device to launch with a 3D capable screen, and therefore it merits some attention. The 3D function on the Samsung W960 can be switched on or off easily enough via a dedicated shortcut key, and there is no need for any special glasses to view the 3D visuals

If you fancy making that monotone sat nav voice a thing of the past, then Ovi Maps has a possible replacement lined up… You! That’s right… you can literally put yourself on the map with Ovi’s ‘Own Voice’ app , which allows you to record and share your own navigation instructions for Ovi Maps directly from your Nokia. To fuel the app, you’ll need to record 53 different orders, such as: ‘Turn right in 200m’ – or our personal favourite – ‘You have reached your destination’. Once you’re done recording, simply add your name, hit save and your ‘voice pack’ is uploaded to the Own Voice website.
